Antique Elmer & Amend laboratory/Apothecary Metric Weight Set

Beautiful antique metric laboratory/apothecary weight set. Made by "Elmer & Amend, New York." Mahogany box contains 9 brass weights and 9 metric fractionals, plus tweezers.
Box measures 5" long x 3 1/2" deep x 2 1/4" tall. Constructed of 5/16" thick mahogany and assembled using a barefaced housing joint. Brass weights are all marked and consist of  1x100 gram, 1x50 gram, 1x20 gram, 1x10 gram, 1x5 gram, 2x2 gram and 1x1 gram. Fractionals are 2x500mg, 1x300mg, 2x200mg, 1x100mg, 1x50mg, 1x20mg, 1x10mg and 1x5mg. Glass cover over the mg weights. Pair of brass tweezers to handle smaller weights. Hardware is original and in good working order. Original brown felt and black velvet. Box was refinished with several coats of MinWax Satin varnish and hand polished to a soft luster with 0000 steel wool and paste wax. Felt pads protect bottom. Great for a collection or to use.
