    Description

    For sale is an antique scale weight set. The weights are from 2lb down to 1/8th of an ounce AVD.
    This set of weights has multiple hallmarks and standards engraved on the top face of the weights (see pictures) and were used as calibration weights for both scales and other weight sets. Common weights often have hollow cavities on the bottom that are uncalibrated. Lead was melted and poured in to the weight to measure it against one of these calibrated weights.
    Scales have multiple adjustments to also allow them to be calibrated against a known and hallmarked weight.
